DragonSword: Awakening Launch Quality-of-Life Updates

Last updated: July 2026

Lock-on targeting, aim assist, stamina increases, and exploration improvements from the June 2026 final preview livestream.

Combat and Camera Improvements

Press coverage of the demo highlighted missing lock-on and controller camera friction during QTE-heavy fights. Hound13 addressed these for retail with a full lock-on system, customizable sensitivity, and optional aim assist. Jump timing and controller responsiveness received dedicated tuning passes separate from the original live-service Dragon Sword build.

These changes particularly help Field Giant Boss fights and Sudden Missions where Signal Skills previously snapped camera toward minor mobs. Revisit our Controls hub and controller guide after launch for updated binding recommendations.

Exploration and Stamina

Character and Familiar stamina pools increased significantly, expanding traversal freedom across the Continent of Orbis. Field exploration elements expanded alongside stamina changes — more discoverable nodes, expanded meadow content, and smoother aerial dash chains between Eona's Legacy mills.

Hero Quests starting with Othello and the new Rift dimensional portal system layer instanced content atop the open field post-launch. Main campaign runtime is approximately 10–15 hours before optional Bond Quests and endgame Tower of Trials.

Community Context

PD Jang Yong-jin demonstrated these improvements during the June 16, 2026 final preview livestream following the 300k wishlist milestone. The Steam demo closed July 7 — players who missed it should watch the Steam Launch guide embedded launch PV for retail expectations.
